A follow up trip to Six Mile Cypress Lake was made on 28 April with no apparent change in the water level.

Overall observations required patience, but with that was rewarded with an unexpected observation of a pair of Black-necked Stilts which were apparently surveying the lake and its condition. The stilts never landed.

Wood Duck seen on the previous visit were found to apparently settle in for the night at Six Mile Cypress Lake during this additional observation. One of the four ducks in the group inexplicably broke away from the others and was not found nearby.

A visit to this venue will be made again before the onslaught of the rainy season and the flooding of any potential nest sites.

This is a really great set of images! I like that last heron putting if "hand over its eyes". Very nice.

Very nice photo's all of them, I love the Halloween Pennant, White Ibis and the Black-Necked Stilt, but...25 en 29 are really breathtaking !
