Little Estero Lagoon Critical Wildlife Area on a June visit was replete with shorebirds save several species that might otherwise have been added at the beach's southernmost end known as Carlos Point.

There was an occasional distraction of male Magnificent Frigatebird overhead vs. females and juveniles as seen not too many weeks earlier at Fort Jefferson. Otherwise, the birds at hand were enjoyable to observe.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen.
DeleteExceedingly well documented, Bob! Little Estero is a gem for all the reasons you have so amply illustrated!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Hemant. I think my favorite observation of the trip was a juvenile Least Tern frolicking in the water about 75 feet offshore.
